Advice to
beginners-Join a
local club. You'll get
friendly,sound advice
and excellent
assistance in
building your aircraft
and developing your
flying skills. Early
goals should be FLY
SMOOTH after you
conquer this then
you can "JAM THE
STICKS" and look
good doing so.      OH
YEAH -  I have no
outstanding warrants
or felony arrests!

 JOHN HERRON
ALIAS (HERM)
I LIVE IN LEETONIA,
OHIO. Married 29
years to wife June, I
have 3 step
children and 4
grandchildren
including twin
grandsons. I retired
in November 2008
from CMI EFCO after
42 years. I was chief
electrical engineer
and senior engineer
during my career
and a member of
the management
team. I  got involved
when in high
school. Control line
mostly and built the
planes from kits.
Enjoyed combat
flying. Got into radio
control in college,
one and two
channel. I got away
from it for almost 40
years till a couple of
years ago when I
joined the club. It is
my main hobby now.
I like the “warbirds”
and other scale
planes.I originally
built from kits ( silk
and dope on wings
etc) and that was
before ARTFs were
available. Recent
builds are ARTF but
intend to do a kit
this winter. Largest
plane flown? 72
inch wingspan – 60
size. My advice for
anyone wanting to
get into the hobby.
Do it, you meet
good people and
have a great time! If
you have any
doubts get
someone with a
plane and buddy
box give you a test
flight that will sell
you if you have any
interest at all.
